International News:At the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took a strong stand on the issue of terrorism and said that "Terrorism is not only a country's security but a threat to the whole of humanity. Any type of duplication will not be acceptable on this."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address, made it clear that terrorism is not a limited threat to the security of a country, but it is a direct attack on the entire humanity. He said that "neither a country, no society nor any person is safe from its grip, so double standards on this issue cannot be accepted under any circumstances." Modi recently referred to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it an "open challenge against humanity." Also, he thanked the friendly countries that stood with India in this difficult time.
The manifesto released at the conclusion of the SCO conference strongly condemned all types of terrorism. It clearly wrote that "no double attitude is acceptable on terrorism." This stance is believed to be a major support for India's continuous campaign. The manifesto also said that all member countries will work united to deal with terrorism, separatism and extremism and take concrete steps to prevent terrorist activities across the border. According to analysts, this is the strictest statement of SCO ever.
Prime Minister Modi said, "Terrorism is not just a matter of security but a shared challenge for humanity. No country, society or citizen is untouched by this. We have to clarify that double standards on terrorism will not be tolerated."
Recently, referring to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, he described it as an "open challenge against humanity" and thanked the countries supporting India in this difficult time.
Modi underlined India's role under SCO-Rats (Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure), saying that India has led joint action against organizations such as al-Qaeda. He expressed the need for global cooperation on the financing of terrorism and stopping arms supply chains.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that strong connectivity is required to open the doors of trust and development. He gave the example of projects such as Chabahar Port and the International North-South Transport Corridor (Instc). Respect for sovereignty and regional integrity is necessary for every initiative. Pakistan-China exposes India's objection in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Modi also raised the issue of improvement in global institutions. He said, "It is an injustice to keep the aspirations of the Global South in the old structures. On the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, we have to take concrete steps towards its improvement." His statement was seen as the voice of Asia, Africa and Latin American countries.
For the first time in the manifesto issued by SCO, double parameters were clearly rejected and it was clearly stated that all member countries would take steps in the fight against terrorism. This stance is a victory for India's long-standing demand in which it has been opposing any kind of political or strategic support to terrorism.
Prime Minister Modi's strict message at the SCO summit is not only a direct challenge to Pakistan and China but also gives India's leadership tone to the global community. It is clear from the terminology included in the manifesto that India's campaign is now becoming a collective voice of Asian countries.
